Dr. Stephen W. Waldo is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado as well as co-director of interventional cardiology and the vascular laboratory at the VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System. In addition to board certification in internal medicine, he has earned additional board certifications in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, and vascular imaging (RPVI). Dr. Waldo also serves as the national director of the VA Clinical Assessment, Reporting, and Tracking (CART) Program, the national quality and safety organization for invasive cardiovascular procedures performed throughout the VA Healthcare System. Dr. Waldo has expertise in the development and analysis of large observational cohorts for the evaluation of healthcare outcomes with a focus on coronary and peripheral artery disease. In particular, he has a research interest in the public reporting of clinical outcomes and the effects that this may have on procedural risk aversion, particularly in light of the reporting infrastructure he oversees within the VA.
