Stephen Liu PhD

Dr. Stephen Liu is a Health Scientist on the Overdose Epidemiology and Surveillance Team in the Division of Unintentional Injury Prevention (DUIP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) working on data from the Enhanced State Opioid Overdose Surveillance (ESOOS) program. He serves as a Science Officer for several funded state health departments; manages the Emergency Department data delivery (including CDC’s NSSP/ESSENCE); and leads geospatial analytic and drug case definition efforts. Prior to coming to DUIP, Stephen was a Guest Researcher with CDC’s Division of Viral Hepatitis in the Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch where he focused on surveillance, data collection, and analysis of hepatitis A, B, and C data from various sources.
