Dr Stephen Cook is a Vice President within the GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines Vaccine Global Regulatory Affairs organisation. His role is Head of International Region (Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific / Japan / WHO)

In this role, he has responsibility within GSK Vaccines for interactions with the regulatory authorities in the designated areas and for providing support and direction to the GSK regulatory teams that operate in the countries within the region: all with the objective to ensure that new GSK vaccines comply with the regulatory requirements and are registered and made available in these countries. Prior to this, and from 2003 to end 2007, he was Vice President for Regulatory Affairs in the Asia Pacific area (based in Singapore) for GlaxoSmithKline with overall responsibility for all GSK regulatory activities in that region of the world. Before moving to Singapore, he worked in GSKs central international regulatory team for circa 10 years during which he gained experience of Rx, Cx and Vx regulatory matters.

He currently chairs the IFPMAs Vaccine Scientific Regulatory Working Group which is focussed upon regulatory matters in the “developing world’ with a specific focus upon the activities of WHO and its role with respect to Prequalification and Regulatory System Strengthening.
