Stephen C. Wright MD

Dr. Wright graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed internal medicine training on the Harvard Service at the Boston City Hospital, followed by training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, also at the Thorndike Memorial Laboratories of the Boston City Hospital. Following training, he joined the Gastroenterology Division at the Faulkner Hospital, becoming involved in the training of medical students, residents and GI Fellows, participating in clinical research and culminating in becoming Faulkner's Chief of Medicine, a position he maintained from 1994 to 2011. He also served as Faulkner's Chief Medical Officer, representing Faulkner Hospital within Partners Healthcare System from 1998 to 2011. Aside from his engagement and recognition as a medical educator, he maintained a GI practice, with a particular interest in functional bowel syndrome and chronic liver diseases. Since retirement from the Faulkner in 2011, he has participated in the Management Leadership Track curriculum of the Brigham's Department of Medicine, and, on May 2013, became the Program Director of the Brigham's Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy Training Program.
