Stephen Bell is a consultant colorectal surgeon practicing at the Alfred and Cabrini Hospitals in Melbourne. He completed his General Surgery training at the Alfred Hospital, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2000. He completed the Training Board in Colon and Rectal Surgery (TBCRS) programme in 2002, and a further fellowship at Hôpital Saint-Antoine, Paris in 2003, with the assistance of winning the Murray and Unity Phiels Colorectal Fellowship. He is a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), and a current board member of the TBCRS.,br/>
Mr Bell was the Chairman of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Committee, Victorian Cooperative Oncology Group, The Cancer Council, Victoria from 2009-2012. He is a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the Cabrini Monash University Department of Surgery, and is actively involved in colorectal research. His areas of interest include colorectal neoplasia and minimally invasive surgery, including robotic and trans-anal approaches (including taTME).
