Dr. Stephen P.H. Alexander graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bath in 1982, following which Steve conducted a PhD in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Bristol, graduating in 1986. Steve was a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Psychiatry (now the MPI for Neurobiology) in the Department of Neuromorphology, near Munich, Germany. Steve moved back to the UK to conduct a Postdoctoral role funded by the Wellcome Trust in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of the University of Nottingham, In 1993, Steve was appointed as a Lecturer in that department, and since then Steve has been promoted to Associate Professor in the School of Life Sciences, University of Nottingham.
