Stephanie Kliethermes‌ received her PhD from the University of Iowa in 2013. Upon graduation, she joined the Clinical Research Office (CRO) and department of Public Health Sciences at Loyola University as a research assistant professor. Her dissertation work focused on developing a non-parametric, Bayesian approach to modeling longitudinal growth curves with categorical outcomes. While studying at the University of Iowa, Stephanie served as a part-time statistical consultant for the College of Nursing at The University of Iowa and the College of Pharmacy at Midwestern University (Downers Grove, Il). In her role as a graduate research assistant, she worked as a collaborating biostatistician, along with her advisor Dr. Jacob Oleson, on an NIH funded grant studying the effectiveness of cochlear implants on deafness and communication disorders. She also taught a course, Design and Analysis of Biomedical Studies, to MPH students in the College of Public Health during the summers of 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Stephanie’s current and future research interests include statistical modeling and inference for various public health and medical issues, with applications in hepatology, pediatric cardiology and epidemiology. She will teach biostatistics courses to MPH students in the Department of Public Health Sciences beginning in the Spring of 2014. As the primary biostatistician for the CRO, Stephanie consults with and provides statistical support for researchers on the Loyola Medical Campus.
