Stephan Morbach

Dr. Stephan Morbach graduated from the University of Bonn, Germany in 1989.He is currently Head of the Department of Diabetes and Angiology at the Marienkrankenhaus in Soest, Germany. His department cares for patients with all types of diabetes and its complications, mainly for the diabetic foot and chronic Wounds of other origins. This service is organized as an interdisciplinary ward together with the Department of Interventionell and Surgical Vascular Medicine (Dr. U. Klemp). He is a Visiting Researcher with the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Düsseldorf University (Prof. A. Icks) and the German Diabetes Center, Düsseldorf.From 2002 to 2008 Dr. Morbach was Board member of the Diabetic Foot Study Group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and between 2005 and 2008 he served as Chairman of this society. He is also a member of the Foot Council of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and of the globally acting International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot.
