Steinar Madsen, MD, FACP(Hon), Medical Director, Norwegian Medicines Agency Dr. Steinar Madsen is medical director at the Norwegian Medicines Agency. He has been working with generic substitution since it was introduced in Norway in 2001. He is a member and previously chairman of the committee for generic substitution at the Agency. Dr. Madsen is also engaged in the drug information service, with a special interest in the safe use of drugs. He graduated from the University of Oslo in 1981, is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology and works part-time as a consultant in cardiology.
