Dr. Stefano Rausei is the new Director of Surgery at Cittiglio. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome with full marks and honors in 2001, he specialized in General Surgery at the same University in 2007, again with full marks and honors. In 2011 he obtained a PhD in Hepatobiliary Oncology from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome and in 2019 the II level Master's Degree in Healthcare Management and Management of Complex Structures at the University of International Studies in Rome. After a few years of activity in the Surgery Unit 1 of the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital, in 2009 he moved to the General Surgery Unit of the Circolo Hospital in Varese.
Since 2015, at the same facility, he has several times played the role of Acting Chief. Since 2018 he has been in service in the General Surgery Unit of the Gallarate Hospital, of the ASST Valle Olona.
Dr. Rausei has to his credit, as a first operator or tutor, of over 1500 major surgical procedures. In particular, his surgical activity is distinguished by numerous procedures in the oncological field involving the gastrointestinal tract, including gynecological pertinence, a significant number of which with a minimally invasive approach. It also includes numerous endocrine surgery and emergency/emergency surgery, with specific reference to the treatment of abdominal sepsis and traumatic pathology. National councilor of the Italian Society of Oncological Surgery (SICO) and member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Gastric Cancer Research Group (GIRCG), Dr. Rausei is the author of over 200 indexed publications, as well as reviewer of the most important international surgical periodicals.
