Stefano Bellentani PhD, MD

Dr. Stefano Bellentani is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Modena (Italy) and Ticino (Switzerland) at Self-employed. His research activity is mainly in the Hepatology and Gastroenterology fields. His clinical interests are Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Hepatitis B, Nutritional Education, Metabolic Syndrome, Liver Cirrhosis, Liver Diseases, Cirrhosis, Diabetes Mellitus, Liver Transplantation.

He has also been a researcher and a Professor by passion since he was a medical student at the University of Modena. In December 2013 he also obtained the national qualification as Full Professor of First Range in Gastroenterology. He mainly deals with liver diseases, in particular with epidemiology and lately with fatty liver (or "hepatic steatosis"), a very widespread disease all over the world. He is also an expert in Nutrition and recently started a multidisciplinary collaboration project with his trusted Nutritionists: Dr.Cecilia Valenti and Dr. Federica Bombarda in Italy, and with the professionals of "Il Centro" in Locarno to try to be able to change the lifestyle of his patients with metabolic diseases, diabetes or obesity.
