Stanley M. Goldberg, M.D. has been at the forefront of a colon and rectal surgical education for over half a century. He was born and educated in Minneapolis where he first received a Bachelor’s degree cum laude in 1953. In 1956, he graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and also completed his General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery training at the University of Minnesota. He was awarded an American Cancer Society grant in 1962 to study at St. Mark’s Hospital in London. On his return, he joined the clinical faculty in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota. At the same time, he became a founding partner of Colon and Rectal Surgery Associates, Ltd.; the practice that has had a long-standing relationship with the University of Minnesota Medical School.
