Dr. Spencer Eth serves as the Chief of Mental Health at the Miami VA Healthcare System and as Professor and the Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program at the University of Miami. From 1996 to 2010 Dr. Eth was Senior Vice President for Behavioral Health at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, and Professor and Vice Chairman of Psychiatry at New York Medical College. Earlier in his career, Dr. Eth was affiliated with the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and UCLA and with the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr. Eth also spent a semester as a Lady Davis Visiting Professor of Psychiatry at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel.
Dr. Eth received his BA from New York University and his MD from UCLA, and he was in graduate school at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Dr. Eth trained in psychiatry at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and in child psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is currently certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry and also in child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry.
