Dr. Spateeka started her career in field of Emergency Medicine in 2002 just after her graduation from medical school and has successfully practiced in ED for more than 15 years. Her journey in Quality Management began in India when she headed the NABH in Malathi Manipal Hospital, Bangalore before she moved back to Muscat, Oman where she had spent her childhood years. She continued her practice in ED but the passion for Quality led her to be the Team Leader in ED and achieving Gold Standard in Accreditation Canada International. She had the glorious opportunity to have lead and as part of the ED Team twice in being awarded the Hospital recognition award in 2015 and 2018 respectively. She soon became a Fellow with the International Society of Quality in Healthcare. Her keen quest for knowledge and interest led her to joining the American Society of Healthcare as Member and certified professional of Enterprise Risk Management in Healthcare. She also has the credit of bringing the 1st risk management workshop to Royal Hospital this year. She is known to be very passionate with her work and being the go getter. She is a firm believer in Quality Improvements where heightened patient experience is pivotal to all her projects. She also has a very interesting ongoing research project on Second victims and the role of Emotional Intelligence in their resilience to cope. She was recently invited as speaker to share the project at the Leadership summit in Ministry of Health. She is a strong advocate of Quality and Patient Safety and spreads the good word on 2nd victims at presentations she is invited to at various regional hospitals of the Ministry of Health.
