Soraia Carvalho Souza Graduated in Dentistry from the Federal University of Maranhão (1988), Specialization in Endodontics from the Centro Técnico Aeroespacial (São Jose dos Campos (SP)/Faculty of Dentistry, University of Sao Paulo (1991), Master's Degree in Clinical Dentistry with Concentration in Endodontics from the State University of Campinas (2000), Ph.D. in Dentistry from the University of Sao Paulo (2007). Post-Doctoral internship for 12 months at the Department of Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, University of São Paulo (2008).
Soraia is Currently Associate Professor III in the Dentistry Course at the Federal University of Maranhao. Permanent Researcher linked to the Graduate Program in Dentistry (PPGO/UFMA | Master's/Doctorate). Leader of the Research Group on Sickle Cell Anemia (GPAF). Has experience in the area of Dentistry, with an emphasis on Endodontics and Dental Materials, working mainly on the following topics: Oral alterations related to systemic diseases (Sickle Cell Anemia | Sickle Cell Trait), Epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of Dental Trauma, Effectiveness of intracanal medications, Chemical, physical and mechanical properties of materials of endodontic use, Biological behavior of materials for endodontic use and Mechanical properties of root dentin.
