Dr. Tuteja is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Tuteja received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan and completed a residency in critical care pharmacy at the University of Kentucky. She received her Master of Science in translational research at the University of Iowa. She came to the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 for a post-doctoral fellowship in pharmacogenomics with Dr. Daniel Rader. She concurrently completed a fellowship at the Penn Center for the Integration of Genetic Healthcare Technologies, one of six national Centers of Excellence for research on the Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI) of genetics and the human genome. Dr. Tuteja’s translational research focus includes the application of genomics, metabolomics, and metagenomics to discover novel markers of response to lipid-lowering therapies. Her clinical interests include the implementation of genomic medicine into clinical practice. Dr. Tuteja is leading several studies focused on implementing pharmacogenetics within Penn Medicine.
