Dr Sobia Raza is a Data Science Policy Analyst at the PHG Foundation. She has also served as interim Head of Science. Her role focusses on examining the potential of data, data-science, and data-driven technologies to improve healthcare, and assessing how policy can shape their impact. Before joining the PHG Foundation, Dr Raza was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, where her research interests focussed on systems-level analysis and modelling of innate immune signalling pathways. She also gained her PhD at the University of Edinburgh. During this time she was awarded a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) science-policy fellowship for a secondment to the Scottish Parliament as a Research Specialist, to provide independent insight into a range of science and health related topics, including healthcare associated infections.
