Smeeta R. Sardesai was a Professor of Pediatrics Keck School of the Medicine University of Southern California Los Angeles, California, USA Dr. Smeeta Sardesai, M.D., M.S. Ed., is Professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. She completed her medical education at Goa Medical College, University of Bombay, India; her graduate training in Pediatrics at the King-Drew Medical Center, Los Angeles; and her fellowship in Neonatology at USC in 1992.

She joined USC in 1993 and has been a full-time faculty at USC since then. A dedicated educator, she obtained M.S. Ed. Degree in Medical Education from the Rossier School of Education of USC in 2004 and is Associate Program Director of the USC/CHLA Neonatology Fellowship Program. She is also the Medical Director of NICU at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles, and Chairman of Pediatrics at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Her research interests include prevention of acute and chronic lung injury, neonatal skin and birth injuries, pulmonary hypertension and use of Nitric Oxide, nutrition and feeding disorders in neonates.
