Siu Wai Choi

Siu-Wai is a scientist whose ideology drove her to the study of medical statistics and critical appraisal of the medical/scientific literature. She is a research officer at the Department of Anaesthesiology, The University of Hong Kong by day, where her research interests include the elucidation of epigenetic mechanisms involved in pain and pharmacogenetics of chronic pain sufferers. When she is not busy in the laboratory extracting DNA, or persuading patients to donate buccal cells for her studies, she works to make clinical effectiveness research accessible and endeavours to write articles on medical statistics which clinicians will actually be inclined to read.
