Siobhan has twenty five years experience in health economics, policy and management with a particular interest in using research and evidence in turning policy into practice in the delivery of health and social services. She is currently a Visiting Professor in the Health Economics and Policy Research Unit at the University of South Wales. Born in Carmarthen Siobhan has lived in Newport for the last twenty years.

Siobhan originally graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University and has postgraduate degrees from the Universities of Cardiff and Birmingham. Following graduation Siobhan joined the NHS General Management Training Scheme and subsequently worked for a number of years as a manager in NHS Wales including in the then Gwent Health Authority. She subsequently moved into higher education researching and teaching health policy, management and economics at Newport, Swansea and Cardiff universities. She has also worked providing research and policy advice to a wide range of statutory and third sector organisations across the UK and internationally notably in Cambodia and Pakistan. Most recently she worked as Head of Evidence for Macmillan Cancer Support. She has been a Visiting Professor at the Northumbria University and a Trustee for the Bevan Foundation.
