Dr Simon MacKenzie is the Medical Director of St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and a Professor of Quality Improvement at the St George's University of London. Simon qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1983. In 1992 he was appointed as consultant in anaesthetics and critical care and worked closely with the renal and liver transplant programmes. He has been an advisor to SIGN, NICE and the government, Chair of the Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group (SICSAG) and President of the Society.
