Simon Haroutounian has received his B.Sc.Pharm degree (Magna Cum Laude) in 2002, and his Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy (Magna Cum Laude) in 2005, both from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem School of Pharmacy. After working for 2 years as a clinical pharmacist in the Intensive Care Unit, he pursued his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science / translational pain research at The Hebrew University, graduating in 2011.

Dr. Haroutounian has completed a Fulbright doctoral fellowship in pain outcomes research at the University of Utah (2008-2009), and a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical pain research at the Danish Pain Research Center at Aarhus University hospital in Denmark. He is currently an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology of Washington University School of Medicine (Division of Clinical and Translational Research) and serves as the Chief of Clinical Research for the Washington University Pain Center.
