Dr. Simon Fischer received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Ulm University, Germany, for his investigations of the role of microRNAs in CHO production cells. Before, Dr. Fischer studied Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (B.Sc) at Biberach University, Germany, as well as Biomedical Engineering (M.Sc) at the University of Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Germany. Furthermore, he collected relevant industrial experiences at Boehringer Ingelheim in Biberach, Germany, as well as Novartis Pharma in Basel, Switzerland. In 2015, Dr. Fischer joined the Department of Cell Culture Development at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma as a Scientist, where he is responsible for the development and implementation of novel technologies in CHO cell lines and bioprocess development.
