Simon E. Hufton PhD, BSc

Dr Simon E. Hufton joined NIBSC in 2009 as a principal scientist within the Biotherapeutics division. He has over 20-years’ experience in the therapeutic monoclonal antibody field including the biopharmaceutical industry as Director Research for Dyax (Liege, Belgium) and Wyeth (Dublin, Ireland). He is a biochemist by training and received his undergraduate degree from The University of Manchester, UK and his PhD at Nottingham University, UK. His research interests include therapeutic monoclonal antibody discovery, optimisation and development with a particular emphasis on antibody structure/function related to the efficacy quality and safety of biological medicines.
