Mr. Simon de Denus completed his bachelor's degree in pharmacy at the University of Montreal in 1999 and did his master's degree in pharmaceutical practice, health establishment option at the University of Montreal in 2000. He then did a residency in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal, a first fellowship at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, then a second at the Montreal Heart Institute. He obtained his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology option, at the University of Montreal.

He is an associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Montreal and practices as a pharmacist and researcher at the Montreal Heart Institute. He is the holder of the Beaulieu-Saucier Chair of the Université de Montréal in pharmacogenomics and co-director of the heart failure research group at the ICM. He is also Chief of Pharmacotherapy at the Beaulieu-Saucier Pharmacogenomics Center of the University of Montreal and was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2022.
