Silvana Yanina Romero-Zerbo graduated in Biochemistry at Universidad Catolica de Córdoba (Argentina) in 2002. Then she moved to Spain (Hospital Regional de Málaga) where she got a national fellowship to perform a PhD in Neuroscience (2009). Since then she has been working as a post-doctorate at the Biomedical Institute of Málaga (IBIMA). Her current interest is focused on translational research in the field of diabetes. She has been principal investigator of a regional grant from Consejería de Salud (Junta de Andalucía, 2013-2016) and has participated in 18 national/regional competitive grants, including one clinical trial. During her scientific career, she has published close to 30 JCR-indexed publications (H-index 16). Her scientific activity has been interrupted by three maternal casualties (2014, 2016, and 2018).
