Sidonia Fagarasan’s research addresses the symbiotic relationships between gut bacteria and the immune system. She holds an M.D. degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj, Romania and a Ph.D. degree from Kyoto University. Currently a team leader at the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences, Yokohama Japan, she has co-authored more than 50 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, many of which are in high- impact journals such as Science, Immunity, Nature, Cell, and Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences and has received numerous awards.
