Siddika E. Karakas MD

Dr. Siddika Karakas is a board-certified endocrinologist and internist, and a professor emeritus at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. She established the PCOS program at the University of California, Davis. This program helped to train internal medicine and family practice residents, and endocrine fellows. Dr. Karakas conducted several clinical studies focusing on the effects of different foods and supplements on obesity, insulin resistance, and hormones in PCOS funded by national and international foundations and the National Institutes of Health. She received the “Outstanding Clinician” and "Research Excellence" awards from the Department of Medicine and was recognized as a "Top Doctor" by the Sacramento Magazine in 2018.
