Sian is qualified as a registered nurse in 1986 from Manchester Royal Infirmary. She worked on a surgical urology ward before going to St Thomas’s and Guys Hospitals, where she completed her midwifery training. She worked for a number of years at Withington Hospital, Manchester as a midwife, with a short spell working in Melbourne, Australia.
She had a career break after having three children and then went onto train as a social worker, as she had particularly enjoyed this aspect of work in nursing and midwifery.
She have worked as a social worker in a number of different teams: an older peoples team, Intermediate Care and East Cheshire Hospice. She is also a Social Work Partner for the HCPC and sit on Fitness to Practice Hearings for Social Workers.
Her background, training and experience in both health and social care enable her to have a very holistic approach to her work. She believe very strongly in integrated care that recognises a persons health, social, psychological and emotional needs.She is a sociable person that loves to engage in different activities with her family and friends. She like to run, cycle, walk, dance and ski, which is just as well as she also love to cook and entertain.
