Shuvayu Sen PhD, MS

Shuvayu Sen, Ph.D. is an Executive Director in the area of outcomes research and access, at Merck & Co., Inc. where he leads a team of health outcomes researchers and strategists for developing and conducting research strategy and programs that assess economic and humanistic values of Merck products in oncology area. His team is also responsible for communicating such scientific evidences to scientific community including health technology assessment agencies. Prior to joining Merck in 2001, Shuvayu received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University focusing on Health Services Research. Shuvayu has been in leadership roles in access and outcomes research space at Merck and other bio-pharmaceutical companies for the last 17 years for various therapeutic areas including rheumatology, respiratory, immunology, dermatology, endocrinology, pain, infectious disease, vaccines and oncology. Shuvayu has led many successful submissions to and consultations with different Health Technology Assessment/reimbursement bodies around the world and partnered with academic groups for research collaborations. He has won several national and international awards for his scientific work. He is a reviewer for many international journals and on the editorial board. Shuvayu has led special task forces for scientific organizations as well as served on advisory board, including serving as a steering committee member for the Merck-Maccabi Real World Research Center. He has authored/co-authored more than 200 articles and abstracts.
