Dr. Shuan Dai’s extensive training, experience and expertise covers a wide range of conditions, treatments and procedures. After finishing his Ophthalmology training with a Masters degree in ophthalmology in China, Dr Dai completed a clinical research fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology in the UK in1990.
A volunteer ophthalmic surgeon for international NGOs, Dr Dai worked with the Lebanese government & Palestinian Red Crescent Society hospitals in Lebanon from 1991-95.
He moved to New Zealand in 1995 where he worked as a non-training eye registrar in Palmerston North Hospital until 1998 when he moved to Auckland and completed his ophthalmic specialist training in 2003. Following this he gained extensive expertise in the treatment of Strabismus & Paediatric Ophthalmology and Paediatric Neuro-ophthalmology during his fellowship in Toronto.
