Shuaib Abdullah, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Division of Cardiology. He is also the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging at the Dallas VA Medical Center.

Dr. Abdullah holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Texas A&M University. He received his medical degree from UT Southwestern and completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern. He then completed advanced training through a fellowship in cardiology at UT Southwestern, with further training in cardiac MRI at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.

He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and holds COCATS Level III certification in cardiac MRI. Dr. Abdullah joined the UT Southwestern Faculty in 2010.

Dr. Abdullah’s research interests include cardiac MRI and preventive cardiology. His investigations have resulted in more than 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as contributions to reviews, book chapters, editorials, and meeting proceedings.

Dr. Abdullah is active in several professional societies, including the Society of Cardiovascular Medical Resonance, the American Heart Association, and the American College of Cardiology.
