Dr. Shounak Majumder, MD, is the director of the pancreas fellowship program and is actively involved in mentoring residents and fellows. He is a federally funded investigator and leads a research program that focuses on developing novel molecular and artificial intelligence-based tools for early detection of pancreatic cancer. He is the director of the high-risk pancreas clinic and serves as innovation chair for the division of gastroenterology and hepatology. He is currently a councilor for the Pancreatic Disorders Section of the AGA Institute Council and an editorial board member ofPancreas.” 

Dr. Majumder's goal of discovery and validation of molecular biomarkers for early detection of pancreatic cancer will result in better outcomes for patients. Earlier detection of pancreatic cancer results in more effective treatment and better survival rates. Dr. Majumder also leads the High-Risk Pancreas Clinic at Mayo Clinic, a highly specialized clinic for pancreatic cancer screening and surveillance in individuals with a genetic or familial predisposition to pancreatic cancer.
