Dr. Zhang Shizheng is a Professor and Senior Attending of Radiology and the Former Director of the Radiology Department. Dr. Zhang specializes in radiology diagnosis and interventional radiology. After completing a study in medical school, Dr. Zhang worked in Zhejiang Qingtian County Hospital as a radiologic resident for sixteen years (1963-1979). He has got a lot of practice and experience during this period. Passing a national examination in 1979, Dr. Zhang was admitted to Peking Union Medical University and started the post-graduate program for three years. And then he became a consultant in Peking Union Medical University Hospital. He has learned much new knowledge of radiology and studied a number of complicated cases; he was also sent to Germany to study CT in Siemens Company in1983.

He has improved a lot in both theory and ability during those six years. He moved to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University Medical School in 1985 as an associate professor. Then in 1993 he moved to Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine as a professor and chairman of radiology department and has been working until now. He learned the interventional radiology in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in 1988, and became a Chinese radiologist who engaged in interventional radiology very early. He learned how to organize the Radiology Department in American style and studied MRI diagnosis at Loma Linda Medical University in 1992. After coming back, he went to Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital in charge of the Radiology Department.
