Shivanthan Shanthikumar MBBS, BMedSci, FRACP, PhD

Dr Shivanthan Shanthikumar is a pediatric respiratory specialist and clinician-scientist fellow. Dr Shanthikumar works at the Department of Respiratory Medicine (RCH) and Respiratory Diseases (MCRI). His research interests include cystic fibrosis, asthma, preschool wheezing, lung infections, bronchoscopy, and respiratory complications of childhood cancer. Dr Shanthikumar has a broad range of research skills spanning laboratory science (epigenetic analysis, flow cytometry, single-cell RNA sequencing, metabolomics, cytokine analysis), clinical research, and digital health interventions. Dr. Shanthikumar is also involved in leadership within the pediatric respiratory community nationally and internationally, including membership in the AREST CF Scientific Management Committee and the American Thoracic Society working group on complications of childhood cancer.
