Shivam Om Mittal MD

Dr. Shivam Om Mittal is a consultant neurologist, section head of movement disorders, and expert in diagnosing and treating Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Mittal is the first fellowship-trained movement disorder Neurologist in Abu Dhabi and started the movement disorders center at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. His ideology is “patient-centered care” and finds gratification in taking care and responsibility for his patients.

He has in-depth training in Movement disorders including botulinum toxin injections and Deep Brain Stimulation for Movement Disorders. During his training, he has injected more than a thousand patients with botulinum toxin for common conditions such as Writer’s cramp, Cervical dystonia, hemifacial spasms, blepharospasm, spasticity (muscle tightness after stroke), Essential Tremor, Parkinson’s disease tremor, Sialorrhea (saliva drooling), and uncommon conditions like jaw opening or jaw closing dystonia.

Dr. Mittal is the author of over 30 published medical articles in prestigious journals, more than 35 paper presentations at International and American neurology conferences, as well as the author 2 books on botulinum toxin treatment.

His published scientific contributions led to the award of the best neurologist in training at Vancouver, Canada in 2016 from the Association of Indian Neurologists in America. He was also bestowed by Mount Sinai Award for his excellent research at Case Western Reserve University. He has presented grand rounds at many universities on neurological conditions and has been invited to numerous conferences as a speaker. He has mentored several neurologists on botulinum toxin injections at the national movement disorder conferences organized by reputed AIIMS (Delhi), NIMHANS (Bangalore), and IN-K (Kolkatta).
