Dr. Jayaraman completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Ottawa in 1998 and medical school at The University of Western Ontario in 2002.
He completed his General Surgery Residency at The University of Western Ontario and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2007. He then stayed in London where he completed a Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Fellowship as well as a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2009.
The focus of his thesis was the design and evaluation of novel instruments for Minimally Invasive Surgery and surgical education. In 2010 he completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York City.
