Dr. Shirin Dasgupta, MD, DipRCPath, is a pathologist, clinician-scientist, and academician at the Dr. B. C. Roy Multi-Speciality Medical Research Centre, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. A Gold Medalist in MD (Pathology), she is also a Diplomate Member of the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) after successfully completing the Part I FRCPath examination in Histopathology. She combines expertise in diagnostic pathology with a strong commitment to medical education, translational research, and the integration of advanced technologies into pathology practice.
Dr. Dasgupta's research interests include histopathology, molecular pathology, cancer biomarkers, cytogenetics, and digital pathology. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals and has contributed to postgraduate education through courses in pathological image processing and advanced pathology. An active participant in scientific conferences and interdisciplinary healthcare initiatives, Dr. Dasgupta is dedicated to advancing precision diagnostics and improving patient care through innovation, research collaboration, and academic excellence.
