Dr. Chou is a Visiting Associate Professor, Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine. She holds secondary appointments in Neurology and Neurological Surgery. She is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty training and board certifications in critical care and vascular neurology. Dr. Chou trained at McGill University and Harvard Medical School. She is a member of The Clinical Research, Investigation, and Systems Modeling of Acute Illness (CRISMA) and the SAFAR Center, University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. She is also a research associate at the Neuroprotection Research Laboratory and the Clinical Proteomics Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Chou’s clinical practice focuses on critically-ill patients with injuries to their nervous systems. Her research focuses on the use of human molecular biomarkers to probe mechanisms and predict outcome in acute brain injury conditions such as subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and hypoxic ischemic brain injury from cardiac arrest. Dr. Chou has published over 50 papers, reviews and book chapters. She has received numerous honors for her research and scholarly work contributions.
