Sherri M. Donat, MD, FACS: Dr. Donat completed her Medical degree and residency training at the University of Oklahoma followed by a urologic oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Following fellowship, she was on staff at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center before returning to Memorial Sloan Kettering in 1996 where she remains today as an Attending Surgeon in Urology and Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.

Her research/clinical activities focus on the improvement of perioperative care/outcomes, defining the role of surgery in locally advanced and/or metastatic bladder cancer, determining how to best integrate surgery with chemotherapy, and improving perioperative management to decrease surgical morbidity/mortality for all major GU procedures. She established perioperative care pathways (ERAS) at MSKCC in 1996, along with a prospective adverse event database utilized for both patient care and clinical research and has focused on raising awareness of the need/benefits of accurate complication reporting and to establish an international standard for reporting surgical morbidity in urologic oncology.
