Dr. Jian Gang is currently Professor, Associate Director (Research), Chairman of Departmental Research Postgraduate Committee, School of Chinese Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. He has received MBBS( in Chinese Medicine), PhD degrees from Hunan Chinese Medical University, Institute of Biophysics Chinese Academy of Science, China. He has received National Military Medical Scientific Achievement Award (Third Class), PLA, China, 1997 Young Scientist Traveling Award of the Fifth International Meeting of Nitric Oxide Biology, September 15-19, 1997 in Kyoto, Japan, 1997 Young Scientist Traveling Award of the First Asia –Pacific Symposium of EPR/ESR, January 17-20, 1997 in Hong Kong. Dr. Giang,s research interests are Oxidative stress in aging-related diseases including cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases and cancer, Herbal medicine for cerebral and cardiac vascular diseases and cancer, focusing on antioxidant therapies.
