Dr. Shazi Shakil is an expert in the field of Enzoinformatics (Bioinformatics) as well as Microbiology. He is currently working as a Scientist and Assistant Professor at KACST Technology Innovation Center for Personalized Medicine and Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Aligarh Muslim University (India) along with the Most Active Researcher Award. He has previously served at KFMRC, KAU, KSA, and Integral University, India as Assistant Professor. His name appears in Marquis Who is Who in the World 2014, USA (31st Edition). He has 1 Book, 56 papers, and an accepted Project (1.95 million SR) from KASCT, Saudi Arabia to his credit (citations: 627, h index: 11, i10 index: 16; as on 9 June 2015). He is an editorial board member in internationally indexed journals. He was the Ph.D. supervisor of 3 students at IU, India. He has guided the dissertations of 4 Masters and 12 Graduate students to completion. He is UGC-CSIR-NET, DBT-JRF, and GATE (TWICE) qualified (98.3 percentile). He is a recipient of awards from various bodies like AFMI, USA; Aggrawal Mahasabha and CEPECAMI, India. He coined the term Enzoinformatics. His current research thrust is on computational enzyme-ligand interaction studies (human neuro enzymes and bacterial drug resistance enzymes).
