Shawna Lee Ehlers is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Consultant in the Division of Consultation and in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at the Mayo Clinic. She is board-certified in Psychology. Dr. Ehlers conducts transdisciplinary patient-oriented research aimed at improving patient care and overall health. Her research focuses on issues such as health behaviors, including tobacco use, obesity-related behaviors, adherence and compliance to medical regimens, quality of life, psychological adjustment to chronic illness, social support and caregiving; coping; and psychological factors affecting medical conditions. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts at the University of Iowa.
