Dr. Shawn M. Peterson, DO, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, where he also serves as Director of the Jefferson Rehabilitation Medicine Electrodiagnostic Laboratory and Associate Director of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Medical Student Education Program. He completed his medical training at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University, where he has remained actively involved in both clinical practice and medical education.
Dr. Peterson is board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Brain Injury Medicine, and provides patient care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. In addition to his leadership roles in education and electrodiagnostic services, he contributes to interdisciplinary clinical initiatives, including collaborative efforts such as the Center for Chest Wall Disorders. His work reflects a commitment to enhancing rehabilitation care through both teaching and clinical innovation.
