Sharon T. Phelan MD, FACOG

Dr. Phelan did her medical education and residency at UNM. Her 40-year career has focused on obstetrical care from pre conceptive to postpartum particularly in underserved populations. As the NM Section Chair for ACOG, she has worked to re-establish the NM Maternal Mortality Committee. As the Co-Chair of the MMRC, she works with the NM Perinatal Collaborative on their AIM PPH bundle. During her 40 year career, she has served on numerous national ACOG committees including Ob Practice Committee and Program Committee for ASCM. This past May she assumed the role of Secretary for ACOG.
