Sharon Mcgee

As President, Sharon McGee actively provides consulting services toclients on preparing for ICD-10 Implementation, challenging HIM and regulatory complianceissues which affect the revenue cycle and risk exposure. Ms. McGee foundedMcGee and Associates in August 2014. Prior to that she was Executive VicePresident of Healthcare Education Strategies a healthcare consulting firm. Shehas more than 30 years’ experience in Health Information Management andHealthcare Compliance in various type facilities. Ms. McGee has worked invarious capacities in HIM with various types of providers and has served asCompliance Officer in an academic medical center and a health system. Ms. McGeehas taught medical coding for 25 years and currently serves on the adjunct facultyof Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) HIM Bachelor of Science program.

Sheis an AHIMA approved ICD-10 CM/PCS trainer. Ms. McGeepossesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Records Science from theUniversity of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Master’s degree in HealthcareManagement from the University of New Orleans. She lectures regionally andnationally to professional organizations and has published articles.
