Sharon L. Hillier PhD

Dr. Hillier is professor and vice chair for Faculty Affairs and director of infectious disease research in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She holds a joint appointment as professor in the School of Medicine’s Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and is a senior investigator at the Magee-Womens Research Institute.

In 2006, Dr. Hillier was named principal investigator for MTN, an HIV/AIDS clinical trials network established by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh in 1995, she served for 12 years on the faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington.
