Dr. Shan Mohammed is a faculty member in the Department of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. He is the founding director of the Master of Public Health Program in Urban Health and from 2007-2017 oversaw the program in areas of educational policy development, curricular design. From 2017-2018 he served as Interim Chair of the Department of Health Sciences. Additionally, in the past, he has served as Director of Interprofessional Research. Dr. Mohammed has also served as Faculty-in-Residence for over three years.

Mohammed is a board-certified family medicine physician and a fellow of the American Association of Family Physicians. He completed an academic medicine fellowship which included year-long work at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Mohammed also completed a three year Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “Developing Leadership in Reducing Substance Abuse.” Before joining Northeastern in 2007, Professor Mohammed served as Associate Director of the MPH Program at Case Western Reserve University and Director of the Global Health concentration.
