Shamkant L. Shimpi MPharm, PhD

Dr. Shimpi is working with Centaur Pharmaceutical Ltd, Pune as Vice-President- Research and Development. He looks after all research and development activities from project initiation to ANDA/dossier approval, including bio-studies, scientific justiífications to regulatory agencies, etc. Dr. Shimpi has expertise in the development of all dosage forms and also is a good team player. He strongly believes in the strength of teamwork. His main interest is developing new dosage forms which have significant importance for safety, efficacy, and commercial value. He has a very good understanding of bioequivalence studies.

Dr. Shimpi completed his doctoral studies at Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune, India under the guidance of Prof. A. R. Paradkar and Prof. KR. Mahadik. During his doctoral studies, he published 10+ International publications. He has received various grants from Government as well as Private Companies for doing his Ph.D. studies as well as to present his research work at International conferences. He got an opportunity to visit Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Algeria, Oman, and Thailand for presenting his Research work and for business work. His research area is amorphous drug formulations, novel drug delivery systems, solubility enhancement of poorly water-soluble drugs, and improved in vivo performance for low permeable drugs.

Dr. Shimpi completed his post-graduation (M.Pham) from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, and graduated from NDMVPS's College of Pharmacy, Nasik (Pune University). He was the recipient of the AICTE and cSIR Scholarship/grant for his post-graduation and doctoral studies. Dr. Shimpi is voluntarily serving as an Editorial member and reviewer for many International journals. He is guiding post-graduate and doctoral students at various universities.

Dr. Shimpi has worked with various organizations in leadership positions, such as Sai Life Sciences Ltd., Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., Ipca Laboratories, and RPG Life Sciences, His overall experience in formulation development is around 17 + years.
