Dr. Shailendra Singh, MD, is Director of Bariatric Endoscopy, Advanced Endoscopist, and Associate Professor of Medicine at West Virginia University, Morgantown. He is a graduate of Maulana Azad Medical College, University of India. Dr. Singh completed an Internal Medicine residency at Allegheny Health Network, Pittsburgh, followed by fellowships in Geriatric Medicine and Gastroenterology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Allegheny Health Network, respectively. He also received special training in Advanced Endoscopic procedures at Allegheny Health Network.

Dr. Singh's clinical and teaching interests include EUS, ERCP, pancreatobiliary diseases, and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, focusing on endoscopic treatment of obesity, GERD, and postsurgical complications. He is one of the leaders in the country in performing Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty procedures for weight loss. He also devotes his time to research focusing on pancreatobiliary diseases, advanced endoscopic procedures, outcomes research using big databases, and innovative bariatric endoscopy procedures and devices.

Singh's work has resulted in numerous publications in reputed gastroenterology and bariatric journals and extensive media coverage. He is working on developing innovative endoscopic weight loss methods and devices and has been granted patents. He is the editor and reviewer of several medical journals. He serves on national committees, including the American Society for Gastroenterological Endoscopy, Digestive Disease Week Clinical Symposia Committee, and the American College of Gastroenterology International Committee.
